Dr. David L. Hime

Dr. David L. Hime is a native of San Antonio, where he was born on February 22, 1959. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University with an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering. He then graduated from the UT Dental Branch at Houston in 1986 and the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 1988 with a Master of Science degree in Oral Biology and a certificate in Orthodontics.

He is a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Capital Area Dental Society, Southwestern Society of Orthodontists, Texas Association of Orthodontists, American Association of Orthodontists, and the Charles H. Tweed Orthodontic Study Group. He has chaired both Young Dentist and Peer Review Committees of the Capital Area Dental Society and is past president of the Texas Association of Orthodontists. He has served on the American Association of Orthodontists Council on Information Technology. He has been awarded both the C.T. Rowland award and the A.P. Westfall award from the Tweed Study Group for demonstrated excellence in clinical orthodontics. Dr. Hime is also a board certified diplomat of the American Board of Orthodontics, is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Orthodontics at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio and lectures nationally and internationally teaching introductory and advanced courses on the use of Speed braces. He enjoys tennis, traveling, and spending time with friends. He and his wife Tracey have 3 girls: Courtney, Ainsley, and Whitney.

Dr. Nick Salome

Dr. Nick Salome was born in El Paso, Texas on August 16, 1969. He graduated from University of Texas with an undergraduate degree in Philosophy. Dr. Salome had an uncle who practiced General Dentistry and encouraged him from a young age to consider the field. In 1995, he entered the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. He received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery and continued post-graduate work at the University of Washington in Seattle. In 2001, he received his Master of Science Degree in Dentistry and a Specialty certificate in Orthodontics.

He is a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Capital Area Dental Society, Southwestern Society of Orthodontists, and The American Association of Orthodontists. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics and in 2005 was rated "Best Orthodontist for Kids" by the Austin Chronicle. He has maintained a faculty position at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio since 2002 and was promoted to Associate Professor and nominated by the orthodontic department for an Excellence in Teaching Award. In 2009 he was awarded the C.T. Rowland award for demonstrated excellence in clinical orthodontics. Coming home to Texas after residency, he and his wife, Wendy, knew that Austin was where they would like to raise a family. They have two children, Emerson and Kahlil.
